About Us
Well it's more 'About Me' really... my name's Tamsyn and I set up a Support Group in 2012 because there seemed to be a gap that needed to be filled. As the mother of a child with Asperger's Syndrome, I've felt the need for support a lot of the time, especially when it was all new to me and I was trying to make sense of the situation. I wanted to talk to other parents who understood what I was going through and wouldn't make judgements. As I couldn't find any groups locally, I set one up and it's evolved into a format that seems to work for everybody. As well as sharing advice and experiences, we have tea and cake, which I find always helps!
As I've found that there's a lack of information about what's available for parents and children with an ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) - or at least it can be very hard to find - I wanted to share what I'd found out about services, therapy, benefits, entitlements, books, etc. As time's gone on the list has grown, so I thought it would be good to make it available on a web site to make it easier to access/update. Please let me know if you have anything to add to these pages, or if anything's out-of-date. I hope it helps you.
